Red Deer area plans soil-to-table experience

Red Deer residents who are curious about where their food comes from will soon be able to find out, thanks to an open farm-style activity on the way for this August.

The Soil to Table tour will offer a deep-dive experience into the area’s agricultural side, and it will be a presentation of Red Deer County Agricultural Services. There are three stops on this year’s route, and tickets are $100.00 each.

The activity will see ticket holders visit several different agricultural operations, and Garlic Goodness, TR Bison and Red Shed Malting are all on the list. At each location, the attendees will be treated to a tour, as well as the chance to meet the farmers in person. Once they have visited each of the stops, the participants will head to Canyon Ski Resort for a chef-prepared meal that will showcase locally harvested ingredients.

The function is being offered as part of the larger Alberta Open Farm Days initiative. It is for those age 18 and up only. Pamphlets and other items for an activity like this can all be prepared by a brochure printing company.

The 2024 Soil to Table Tour will be taking to area farms on August 17th. Its Eventbrite listing provides additional information, as well as details about each of the stops and the opportunity to reserve tickets.
