Plenty on the menu in Red Deer this fall
There are two food-related events taking place next month in Red Deer that should have people licking their lips, and probably their fingers.
The Jungle Farm is hosting the Sauerkraut Festival on September 17 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Visitors will learn all they want to about the Eastern European cabbage dish, including how to make it, how to eat it and how it can be used to make soap. They can also tour the farm, which offers guests the opportunity to pick their own produce. Call the farm at 403-227-4231 to learn more about planned events.
The next event, the 3rd annual Red Deer Rotaract Wing Fest, is also happening on the same day. It will be held at the Scott Block Theatre from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Guests will be able to enjoy three types of wings from over 20 Red Deer restaurants; their admission will also include one free drink. There will be musical entertainment, a 50/50 draw and raffles. The public will also have to opportunity to vote for which ‘Wing is King’. For more information, visit the Red Deer Rotaract’s Facebook page.
Red Deer printing companies are often asked to provide the tickets needed at these events. They will also no doubt provide the flyers and posters needed to market them.
