The Pizza Co. will take up the former location of Hudson’s, a pub that closed last December. The new restaurant aims to capture the spirit of the former tenant by offering items like burgers and a selection of 16 craft beers, in addition to its signature pizza and pasta. The restaurant is the project of manager Sanjay Uniyal, who already owns and operates Indian Kitchen in the same area.
Uniyal expressed confidence that the downtown location would help create business:
“There are lots of residents in the area, offices are there, and we’ll have delivery and take-out, too. At lunchtime, it will be good for offices as they can come and have a quick lunch.”
The restaurant is part of an emerging chain, and will be the sixth Pizza Co. in Canada, including a smaller location in Cranbrook, BC. It will be looking to attract both locals and holiday shoppers in Red Deer. New restaurants face a number of challenges, but often find flyer printing and other marketing tools useful to raise their profile and make delivery or pick-up services easy.
The Pizza Co. will open its doors this December at the corner of Ross Street and 49 Avenue.
