Monster Spectacular to hit Red Deer

Some of the world’s most intimidating trucks will roll into Red Deer this April for a one-night-only performance and competition.

The Monster Spectacular is a cross-Canada tour featuring world champion trucks Bounty Hunter and Overkill Evolution as well as names like Scarlet Bandit and Black Stallion. While the event has been taking place for decades, 2020 will mark their first stop in Red Deer in ten years.

In addition to the big trucks, the event will include freestyle motocross, with motorcycle riders performing backflips and other tricks, and ATV races around the oval. The goal is to highlight “every aspect of extreme motorized sports” and put on a good show while doing so.

The Montreal-based circuit focuses on family-friendly exhibitions. Monster truck races and freestyle competitions became popular for their over-the-top personalities and car-crushing stunts. Modern truck events tend to focus more on agility and tricks, although Red Deer’s Lake City Services have supplied junk cars that may fall victim to the quartet of monster trucks.

VIP ticket purchasers will also have a chance to meet with the drivers and see the trucks up close as part of the “Pit Party.” Events such as this are traditionally advertised within the local community through poster printing and flyer printing campaigns.

Monster Spectacular will visit Red Deer on the evening of April 25 at Westerner Park Centrium.

It is advised to check whether the event is still to take place.
