Expo to help locals adopt healthier lifestyles
The Subway Healthy Living Expo is coming to Red Deer this January, and is set to feature vendors representing fitness companies, photography firms, and clothing manufacturers.
There will also be a variety of community and government organizations on hand, such as Health Canada.
Additionally, fitness demonstrations will take place, and the event will feature bounce houses for the kids and plenty of door prizes. All visitors will be given a passport at the door and, if they get all of the spaces stamped by various vendors, they will be eligible to receive extra giveaways. People can also take part in a ‘plank’ challenge.
During the day, Central Alberta Leadership in Health awards will be handed out in categories such as Leadership in Sustainability, Environmental, Healthy Movement, and Healthy Eating.
Many of the vendors are expected to be handing out freebies at their various booths. Many of these items – which can include pens, fridge magnets and note pads – are produced by Red Deer printing companies. Most people like to pick up a freebie and they do not cost the vendor much money to produce.
The Healthy Living Expo is taking place at Westerner Park on January 17th from 10:00am - 5:00pm. Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for children under the age of 12. To learn more about the activities taking place during the day, visit the official event website.
