The 9th annual Centrefest will take place in downtown Red Deer, AB from July 29 to July 31, 2011. It highlights street performers from around the world. There will be a need for Banners and other graphics to highlight the various tents and areas.
Centrefest is sponsored by the City of Red Deer, the Red Deer Public Library, Tourism Red Deer and many local businesses and civic organizations. Admission is free but various performers will be passing around a hat for donations. Centrefest will feature street performers from places such as Australia, Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and, of course, Canada. While they are still taking applications for performers, some of those already scheduled are: Frazer Hooper, a clown from the UK; Sublimit, an acrobat from Japan; Aaron Greg, a stunt performer from Victoria; Nigel Blackstorm, a magician from the US; and The Be Arthurs, a ukulele band from Edmonton, Alberta.
In addition to street performers who will be performing anything from magic to juggling to stilt walking, there will also be several areas of interest. KidsWorld features games and fun for all the children, the Toonie Tent is set to provide change so people can donate a few coins to the individual performers, and there will be the bustle of a street market with lots of wares.
