The Heritage Recognition Awards celebration is taking place next month in Red Deer. It is a presentation of the Heritage Preservation Committee.
The awards are held every other year to honor people and organizations that are dedicated to preserving the heritage of Red Deer and Red Deer County.
There are four categories of awards: Built and Natural Heritage Conservation, Protection and Preservation; Heritage Advocacy, Education and Awareness; Youth Advocacy, Awareness and Support for Heritage; and the Lifetime Achievement Award given to individual volunteers. Each winner will receive a plaque, although organizations only receive one plaque to represent their contribution as a group.
The award celebration is free for all to attend and guests will be served refreshments. No doubt they will have the opportunity to meet the award finalists and network with those who are dedicated to preserving the community’s heritage.
This event will likely attract hundreds of attendees. Red Deer Print shops are often asked to provide printed advertisements such as Flyers and Posters for events like this, as well as the plaques that will be handed out to winners.
The Heritage Recognition Awards celebration will be held at Festival Hall on November 2 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Admission is free of charge. For the most current information about this event or about the awards themselves, call 403-406-8817.
