Radon information session planned for Edmonton

Radon, a radioactive gas that can seep into the basement and low-lying areas of homes both new and old, will be the subject of an upcoming information session.

The talk will give those in the building, real estate, design and architecture fields in Edmonton an opportunity to learn what to do to minimize the risk.

The seminar will be facilitated by David Innes, who has spent much of his career in both construction and related fields, and is certified in methods of detecting radon and how to mitigate the potential risk it may present. The lunch and learn will include a meal and time for socializing, as well as a presentation about radon and an overview of his company’s profile. He is currently Radon Environmental Management Corp.’s Director of Sales.

Radon Environmental Management Corp. will also be sponsoring the luncheon. The company measures radon levels, provides mapping services and maps of areas where this gas may be present, and is recognized as being a leader in the area of its mitigation. Brochures can be prepared for distribution during events such as this to provide those who attend with more information about the topic being discussed.

The YEG Lunch & Learn Protecting Canadian Homes & Buildings from Toxic Radon Gas, which is being hosted by Canada Green Building Council, will be held in the New York Boardroom at 10160-112 Street on November 15.

Tickets and further details can be found on the luncheon’s Eventbrite page.
