An event has been planned for Edmonton that will give those who love the Japanese art of anime a chance to get together with others who share their interest.
Animethon 23 will take over nearly 80% of the campus of MacEwan University’s downtown campus. There will be concerts, consoles, and card-based gaming, meet and greets with people in the industry, contests panels, video screenings, a vendors’ section, and an artists’ alley.
This is the longest running festival of its kind in the whole country, and is organized by The Alberta Society for Asian Popular Arts. Those who are looking for accommodations during the event can find rooms at the university’s MacEwan Residence, or they may choose to stay in one of the nearby hotels. This celebration of anime is open to all ages, but those who are 12 or younger need to be accompanied by an adult.
Several positions are available for those who wish to volunteer during the event. Further details about this can be found on its website. A company that performs printing services will be able to produce volunteer packages, passes, and lanyards for both staff and volunteers, and also any other printed items that are needed to keep a festival like this running smoothly.
Anime 23 will take place at MacEwan University’s City Centre Campus from August 5 until 7. An opportunity to purchase tickets and obtain further information can be found on its website.
