Souper event to celebrate Calgary urban farm

An event that celebrates the harvest season has been scheduled for Calgary, and this autumn festival will be hosted at Highfield Farm.

This October will see the return of Soupalicious Calgary, and while they enjoy their fill of food, the attendees will be supporting a community farm hub. The proceeds will be put towards the construction of a greenhouse, which will both serve as a community meeting area and provider of food throughout the winter months.

Each ticketholder will be able to sample a wide selection of soups and accompanying sides, and when they have had their fill, they can cast their vote for The Golden Ladle award, which will be presented to the top soup chef. Self-guided tours of the venue, tractor rides, games, live music from local performers and a pop-up vendor market will round out the occasion, and craft beer will be poured as well.

To help make the function a success, the organizers have put out a call to the community seeking soup collaborators, vendors and volunteers. A poster printing company can prepare a variety of promotional materials to spread the word about an upcoming activity like this one.

Soupalicious Calgary will be held on Sunday, October 1st at Highfield Farm, located at 1920 Highfield Crescent SE. Tickets for the event are not yet on sale.
