Calgary schedules succulent plant and sip
A Calgary workshop will soon be making succulents the stars of the show.
Succulents are plants with fleshy leaves that come in a variety of colours, and they tend to be easy to care for. Those who attend the upcoming Valentines Succulent Planter Workshop will each walk away with their very own dish garden they have crafted by hand. It can be a fun project for both newbie and experienced indoor gardeners, and tickets are $65.00 each.
The learners in the session will each receive a glass bowl to use as a planter, and a selection of succulents will be provided as well. The soil, sand, rocks, preserved moss and the decor is included, and anyone who would like to add a touch of whimsy by incorporating a figurine or sign in the dish garden may do so. The facilitator will walk the attendees through the steps in preparing their planting, and aftercare tips for their new green friends are on the agenda too. Additional plants and decor may be purchased if supplies are available, and attendees will be able to enjoy snacks and drinks as they put together their planters.
A terrarium or other container garden brings a taste of nature indoors. Plant care tip sheets as well as other materials may be ordered for an activity like this from area stationery printers.
The Valentines Succulent Bowl Workshop will be offered on February 5th starting at 7:00 pm. It will be held at 12129 Avenue in Southeast Calgary.
