Hosting an annual general meeting (AGM) can be an important piece of not-for-profit governance, and the board of a Calgary organization will be hosting one of these events at the end of the month.
The Dalhousie Community Association (DCA) has scheduled its AGM, and it will give both its membership and the general public insight into its activities, as well as its finances and overall governance. It will be offered in person and online, and the group has explained that it is interested in hearing from anyone who would like to join the board.
After a call to order and quorum has been established, the board members and guests will be presented. The “business side” of the evening will follow, with a presentation and approval of the minutes from last year's AGM. Voting protocols will be explained, and a variety of reports and bylaw amendments will be reviewed. Other board business will follow, and the function will conclude with refreshments and a chance to mingle.
Along with a chance to learn more about how the DCA operates, the AGM will include door prize draws.
