Calgary event celebrates birds
Birding is a hobby that can be enjoyed by almost any age and ability, and an upcoming Calgary activity will celebrate its feathered friends.
The Southern Alberta Chapter of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society has planned a day that will help the public to get their feet wet when it comes to bird watching. There are three start times scheduled, and it is free to reserve a spot.
The Nature & Community Day: Winter Birding will showcase the species of birds and other wildlife that call urban and suburban spaces home. Each time slot includes a 30-minute guided walk, as well as an opportunity to visit booths and displays set up in East Village Plaza. Fire pits and mugs of hot chocolate will help keep everyone warm, and an assortment prize draws have been planned. Binoculars, identification manuals and other materials will be provided.
Learning about nature can be a lot of fun, and it may spark a lifelong love and appreciation for the wild. Basic field guides, identification tip sheets and other learning materials for an outdoor activity like this can be crafted by a printing services company.
The Nature & Community Day: Winter Birding will be held on March 15th. All ages can attend, and it will be on offer at River Walk Pathway. The start times are 3:00 pm, 3:45 pm and 4:30 pm.
