Calgary asked to walk and fundraise for fathers

This June, Calgary men, women and kids will have the chance to walk in Edworthy Park as part of an event that will show support to fathers going through a relationship breakdown.

The Canadian Centre for Men and Families (CCMF) will be hosting an outing in the city that will combine fundraising with enhancing public awareness. Titled Footsteps for Fathers, it will be the first year for the activity, and people can join in in-person or online.

The function will work to raise awareness of the importance of fathers and how men can be better dads. The monies raised will be used to support activities such as counselling sessions, peer support and trauma recovery, as well as for educational webinars. The activity will offer a time for the community to come together and build strong connections, and all are welcome.

To thank everyone for their support, those who make a donation through the organization's website will receive a free T-shirt that is printed with a special graphic design.

The first ever Footsteps for Fathers awareness and funding raiser from CCMF will be held on June 19th at Edworthy Park. It is set to kick off at 1:00 pm, and more details about both the function and its host organization for those interested can be found on its website.
