Calgary gets creative with preserved moss

  • 2026-10-21
Quietly growing on trees, rocks and other surfaces, mosses are humble, primitive plants but will be the stars of the show for a Calgary workshop.

The attendees in the Preserved Moss Box workshop scheduled for Bloom Culture will use this natural material to create their own unique works of plant based art. All of the materials are included, and it can accommodate up to eight learners.

The projects, which will combine botany with artistic creation, will be designed by the individual participants to their own taste. They can showcase the different textures and colours, building their creation within the frame. There will be an assortment of mosses to work with as well as other natural elements, and the tools needed for the task at hand will be provided as well. No previous experience is required, and all of the instruction will be supplied.

Working with natural materials can be both fun and relaxing, and anyone who would like to purchase a seat in the session as a gift may do so, and postcard style vouchers will be available for pick up once an order has been confirmed. Letterheads, Postcards and other custom corporate style Stationery will be available at a business card printing company.

This chance to bring a piece of nature indoors will begin at 6:30 pm on November 13th at 1, 3131 68 St NW in Calgary. Tickets are $130.00 each.
