National youth bowling championship to be held in Calgary

The Canadian Tenpin Federation is hosting the Canadian National Youth Bowling Championships in Calgary this weekend.

Participants between the ages of eight and 21 will compete in several different game formats, including singles, doubles, and a team 10-pin competition. In total, there will be 64 competitors in the tournament.

The competitions will be split into four different age divisions: senior, intermediate, junior, and bantam.

Advertisers and event coordinators are likely to have utilized banner printing and poster printing services to generate awareness around the event, as all games are open to the public for attendance. It is anticipated that approximately 250 members of the public will be at the event to cheer on the various participants.

Felicia Wong, an internationally competitive bowler, is acting as the tournament manager for the event. She is encouraging spectators to come and support the young people taking part.

Wong acknowledges that bowling participation has been declining worldwide over the past years and is working with the Canadian Tenpin Federation to explore ways in which to grow the sport and attract a new generation of bowlers. Wong believes the game can be revitalized with the help of competitive events like this.

Several young Albertans will be competing this year in the championships and are vocal advocates for the sport, stating that while many youngsters are playing other sports, bowling has been very rewarding for them.

Further information regarding the event, which will be held at the 30-lane Lets Bowl in northeast Calgary, can be found at gotenpinbowling.ca/EN/Canadian-youth-championships. The games will start tomorrow at 9:00am and will finish at 5:00pm on Sunday.
