Fall seen in with artistic adventure

The Fall Paint-out, a free art event, comes to the area towards the end of the month. Visitors can take advantage of the art supplies that will be provided, although they are welcome to bring their own.

There will be plenty of activities to in which to take part, including art demonstrations, family art projects, tours of the Art Centre, live music, the Corps Bora Dance Theatre, and the Holy Crepe food truck. Featured artists who will be demonstrating and helping with the family art projects will include Ken Bourassa and Franco LoPinto. There will also be arts and crafts from local artists available for sale.

This will be a wonderful opportunity for those in the community to get to know some of their local artists and to discover the joy of creating art. All events will take place outdoors and organizers will undoubtedly be working with Calgary printing companies to prepare for this family-friendly event. Those artists who will also be selling their arts and crafts might consider working with printers to set their booths apart from everyone else's. A colorful banner would definitely attract those interested in purchasing some art.

The event will be held at Leighton Art Centre from September 29 - 30 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm each day. Alberta Culture Days is a yearly three-day event which takes place at the end of September throughout the province. It is to celebrate artistic talent and to encourage the general population to get involved in the art and culture of their community. Last year, over 93 communities participated and over 1,000 events were held.
