Even though the year is more than half over, you can still pick up a copy of the City of Calgary 2011 calendar at several places in the city. The calendar offers information on city services and programs, which are valid throughout the year. There is also a link of the City of Calgary website that allows you the option of downloading and printing the calendar.
The 2011 City of Calgary calendar includes 13 photographs of various heritage sites throughout the city. 2011 was the 100th anniversary of Calgary City Hall and these pictures are seen as “preserving Calgary’s heritage.” Photographs included in the calendar are for such sites as Fire Hall No. 1 (established in 1887), the Alberta Hotel, Knox United Church (built in 1883), Customs House, and the Nellie McClung House (home of the teacher, politician, suffragist and temperance leader in the early 1900s).
In addition to photographs of historic buildings, the City of Calgary calendar includes important dates such as city events, city program registration dates, discounts for recreational facilities in the city, information on all city services and advice on how to handle such things as snow removal, water shortages and the removal of Christmas trees.
The City of Calgary calendar was originally a newspaper insert in the Calgary Herald but it can still be picked up at various places in the city such as recreational facilities public libraries and convenience stores while supplies last. As was stated at the start of the article, you can also download a copy of the calendar from the City of Calgary website.
