Calgary police work with local companies to help kids in need

Calgary's police force recently teamed up with several local businesses and organizations to make Christmas a little bit brighter for the area’s unprivileged children.

The 19th annual Toy Angels toy drive collected tens of thousands of items, which were distributed to families throughout the area to help ensure that there would be something under the tree for every child on Christmas morning.

The police partnered with Encana, Lite 95.9 and the Salvation Army to make the campaign a success. People dropped off toys at one of the many different drop points throughout the city, and they were also collected at the Encana family event for the holidays.

As always, people were very generous. Gifts ranging from a single, carefully-selected toy to an anonymous donation of $10,000 worth of Boxes of Lego were donated to this worthy cause.

The contributions were packed up to be distributed to the 5,600 children of families registered to receive help from the Salvation Army.

Both the recipients and the Deputy Police Chief were overwhelmed by the massive amount of community support. They noted how this could really help to relieve the burden that families in need tend to feel during the holidays. It ensures that they have one less thing to worry about.

Campaigns such as this can make a really big difference in a child’s life. To make sure they are as successful as possible, a Print company could be called upon to produce eye-catching promotional materials.
