Calgary event to celebrate landmark legal ruling

Up until 1927, women in Canada were not legally considered to be “persons”, and an upcoming Calgary event will celebrate a ruling that changed that.

The upcoming Pink Tea at the Palliser will be a celebration of “The Person Case”, in which Emily Murphy fought for the right of women to be considered persons under the law. It is being organized by the Famous 5 Foundation, and it will take place in the Crystal Ballroom at the Fairmont Palliser Hotel.

The gathering will be an afternoon of elegance, and it will highlight contributions made by Canadians when it comes to equality. There will be several dignitaries in attendance, including recipients of the Governor General’s Persons Award, and everyone on the guest list is encouraged to wear a fancy hat. The event will open with a networking mixer, and after this, the formal program will begin.

As with many not for profit events, the organizers have put together a sponsorship package program. Serving as an event sponsor gives a company or individual a chance to show their community spirit, and organizers often recognize this support by including the supporter’s Logo Design in materials prepared for the occasion.

Tickets for the Pink Tea at the Palliser are available through the organizer's website, and it is scheduled for October 18th. The site also offers information for potential sponsors and donors alike.
