Summer and strawberries often go hand in hand, and a Calgary workshop will show how even those in a high rise can enjoy eating the fresh from the garden.
Calgary Farmers’ Market South has scheduled a class that will teach the fundamentals of growing strawberries in a deck planter. Both half and full meter options will be discussed, and, while the plants likely won’t make it through the winter, they should produce throughout the warmer months and on into fall.
The registrants for the class will learn how to prepare their planter, and they will all go home with the materials needed to do so. They will be taught how to properly feed, water and care for their mini-garden, and they will have a chance to ask questions. The ticket price will depend upon the size of the planter selected, and they start at $46.13, which include the materials and instruction as well as fees and taxes.
Urban horticulture can be a fun and tasty hobby, and workshops offer the public the chance to learn how to get started. The attendees in a class or other education session may appreciate receiving Copies of tips sheets and other information, and these can be prepared by local Stationery printers.
