Fundraiser set to showcase Calgary chefs

The 2nd annual Half your Plate Chefs Dinner is taking place next month. Presented by the Calgary Produce Marketing Association, proceeds will be donated to the Alberta Children’s Hospital and the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary.

A popular event in the city, reservations should be made as soon as possible as last year’s dinner sold out. The evening will begin with an hors d’oeuvres reception, which will be followed by a five-course dinner prepared by some of the city’s top chefs. Among those who will be cooking are chefs Anne Sellmer, James Neilson, and Melanie Hennessey.

There will also be cooking demonstrations, pairings of food and liquor, and live entertainment.

Guests will receive a Culinary Chef’s Bag that will be filled with samples, recipes, and cooking tools; this has a worth of approximately $80.

The Community Kitchen Program of Calgary provides many programs and services to those in need. One of their most successful programs is the Good Food Box which allows clients to purchase fresh fruits and vegetable at a reduced price.

Calgary printing companies often provide Invitations for fundraising events to help spread the word.

The Half your Plate Chefs Dinner will be held at the Markin MacPhail Centre on March 9 from 6:00 to 11:30 PM. Tickets are $80 and table for eight are available. To learn more, visit the official Facebook event page.
