Calgary developer lends Legion a helping hand

A developer in the Calgary area has stepped forward to help the Kensington Legion upgrade and improve its building space.

Truman Development Corp has stepped forward with an offer to take on the project. It will involve giving the building a much-needed facelift with room for darts, billiards, a lounge area and other activities. The upper floors of the building will include office and commercial space, which the developer hopes will attract professionals such as doctors or dentists.

The company will also be adding more commercial and residential spaces to the strip mall that is currently on site.

The owner and president of Truman Development notes that he is honoured to be helping veterans to have a space to gather and socialize.

The Kensington Legion, which is one of the largest in the city, currently has about 1,600 members and is hoping to attract younger former service members. A representative of the legion remarked that the organization is thrilled that the developer has agreed to take on the project.

If all goes as planned, the new and upgraded building should be open and ready for use in the December of 2016.

As the project goes ahead, members of the legion and other community stakeholders will likely want to be kept abreast of how the situation is progressing. A Print company will be able to provide such items as pamphlets that offer updates, large Copies of plans that show how the building is expected to look once it’s completed , and much more.
