Calgary class crafts custom gin

Gin can be enjoyed on its own or in a variety of cocktails and mixed drinks, and a Calgary distillery is set to showcase it in different ways.

Two Rivers Distillery's Distiller and Founder Mark Freeland will be sharing his expertise with the registrants in the fifth edition of the Gin Master Class. These three hours of learning will take place at 453 42 Ave SE, and everyone will gain hands-on experience.

The immersive activity will introduce how botanicals can be used to flavour gin in a variety of ways, and it will include a history of the beverage and how it has been crafted over the years. There will be time for taste testing, and everyone will be invited to participate in crafting a custom blend that will be distilled and bottled for pick up at a later date. Everyone will find out how different botanicals can produce various flavour profiles, and before they head for home, the attendees can mingle while they sip on gin cocktails.

An event where the attendees engage in hands-on learning can be exciting for those who take part, and it can be a fun way to learn something new. Copies of any learning materials needed can be ordered from area Stationery printers.

This introduction to the art and science of creating custom gin blends will begin at 7:00 pm on January 16th. Tickets can be reserved by visiting its Eventbrite listing.
