Orchids may sound like flowers that are difficult to care for, but a Calgary event will show how they can be grown even by the houseplant newbie.
The Foothills Orchid Society has announced it will be hosting its annual show this September, and it will have a theme of “Orchids for Everyone”. Species ranging from the common moth orchids sold in supermarkets to more exotic species will be included, and a judged show is on the agenda.
Those who attend the function will be able to enjoy viewing the displays, and growers will be on hand to answer questions. Both hybrids and species are expected to be exhibited, and once everyone has had their fill, they can head to the sales area. Everyone can learn about the benefits of joining the Foothills Orchid Society, and those who come in from out of town have been offered a special room booking rate.
