Harvest season has arrived, and a Calgary program will help connect members of the public with fruits and vegetables fresh from the farm.
The Calgary Produce Marketing Association will be offering people the opportunity to purchase produce for preserving at home, and it will be priced to sell quickly. The monies raised will be distributed to local food pantries and other charities, and there are two days scheduled.
Those who attend the pop-up sale will be able to purchase produce in bulk, and it can be frozen, canned or made into jams and jellies. It may also be a good option for anyone hoping to feed a large crowd while staying on budget. Both single and two day passes are on offer. These start at $10.00, and kids aged 12 and under are welcome to enter at no charge.
Produce markets give members of the public the opportunity to purchase healthy food while supporting local agricultural operations. Promotional materials that ensure a community is aware of an event going on in their hometown can be created by poster printing companies.
The Calgary Produce Marketing Association has scheduled its annual Fall Harvest Sale for September 14th and 15th at the BMO Centre. Tickets for the sale may be purchased by visiting its Eventbrite listing. It will open at 10:00 am each day, and those interested are encouraged to get there early for the best availability of produce.
