Calgary set to explore its urban wildlife

When people think of urban wildlife, pigeons, starlings and other city-dwelling creatures may spring to mind, but those who take part in a Calgary event will learn there is much more to discover.

The city’s Bow Habitat Station will soon be welcoming registrants for an activity that will introduce them to the life that is all around them, even in the heart of the city. They will learn how this urban wildlife can live and thrive surrounded by people and buildings.

The function will have a focus on Alberta, and all ages are invited to spend some time checking out the various investigation stations that will help them to learn even more. Volunteers will be on site to answer questions and offer any assistance needed, and a variety of local partner organizations will have tables and displays set up as well.

Kids who learn to love nature at a young age often maintain that interest throughout their life. Stationery printers can be counted on to prepare activity sheets, colouring Books and many other items that may help them to keep on learning after an event like this.

The What's Up With Urban Wildlife event will be held on January 14th, and it will start at 1:00 pm. Admission is included with the entry price to the Bow Habitat Station.
