Calgary kids offered spots in companion animal camp

Calgary kids who register for an activity that has been organized by the local Humane Society will be able to get some hands-on experience with some furry, feathery and scaly friends in need of lots of care.

The organization has spots available in its Winter Camp, and it is intended for kids from grades one to six. The participants will enjoy lots of interaction with live animals, and the activities will be facilitated by trained staff.

The kids in the program will learn about companion animal care, as well as wild animals and the natural world. There will be crafting and other projects on offer as well, and the campers will be grouped by age, so they can take part in age-appropriate fun. Each day will have its own theme, and its organizers have explained that before and after care will not be available. The registration fee for the four days is $239, and anyone who can contribute a bit extra is asked to do so. The funds will be used to help make sure families facing financial hardship will still be able to participate.

Organizers of kids activities often choose to order learning materials from local Print shops.

The Calgary Humane Society has scheduled its camp to run from January 3rd to January 6th. Its reservation system is now open, and the function will be held at 4455 110 Avenue Southeast.
