Calgary fundraiser offers retro Halloween fun

Halloween is often thought of as a holiday for the kids, but a Calgary event will be letting adults get in on the fun.

The city’s companion animals in need will be the beneficiaries of the party planned by the Alberta Animal Crew Rescue Society (AARCS), and it will have a retro theme. Wyckham House will provide the spooky venue for the occasion, and it’s being set up to be full of old school fun.

The plans for the night will see everyone dance away to their favourite vintage tunes, and there will be games such as a horror quiz and bobbing for apples. Fortune tellers will be on hand, and a cake auction will add some extra excitement, while a photo booth will offer the chance to capture the fun. Signature cocktails will be flowing, and everyone can learn about the animals the group has up for adoption. A costume contest with special prizes will round out the occasion.

Themed activities can be very effective tools for raising both funds and awareness, and decor prepared by a poster printing company can help to create the desired atmosphere. Many of the options available on the market can be used, making them a choice that can be quite budget friendly.

AARCS will be bringing back old-school-style Halloween fun on Saturday, October 25. Tickets can be purchased through the event’s web listing.
