Calgary event celebrates Scottish Bard

Once a year, various people across the world celebrate the life of “The Scottish Ballard” Robert Burns, and Calgary is one of the communities that has an activity on its agenda in honour of him.

The Fairmont Palliser will be paying tribute to Burns when it welcomes the NES Robert Burns 2026 gathering. It will run for five hours, and tickets start at $267.58 each.

Those on the guest list for the affair will be treated to a program filled with traditional Scottish music and food, and those with a kilt made from their clan’s tartan are encouraged to wear it. The whisky will be flowing, and there will be music and dancing as well. This annual event serves as a fundraiser for The Alberta Children’s Hospital, and anyone purchasing an individual ticket or booking a table with seating for 8 or 10 may also choose to make a contribution to the cause at check out.

Fundraisers and other gala affairs may call for sumptuous decor. A banner printing company will be able to help, offering options that look great but still keep a function’s budget on track.

The 2026 NES Robert Burns night fundraiser will open its doors to ticket holders at 6:30 pm on Saturday, January 31st. The festivities will continue on until it wraps up at 11:30 pm.
