Early summer will see Calgary gardens in full bloom, and one of the flowers that is in season will be the star of an event planned for the city.
A local floral design studio will be using peonies as the focus when it teaches some of the basics of crafting a bouquet. The registration fee for the class is $102.51, including fees and taxes, and it includes all the materials needed.
The facilitator of the DIY Floral Workshop: Peonies & Prosecco will walk the attendees through the steps of crafting their arrangement, and while they work, they will be able to sip on their complimentary glass of prosecco. The organizers have explained that this class can only be held when peonies are in season in June, and it is limited to adults only.
A crafting class like this gives the public a chance to learn some new skills in a culturing environment, and it can show how to make the most from the materials available during a particular season.
