Wangara to celebrate festival of lights

A temple and exclusive wedding and events venue based in Wangara will hold a special get together for the Hindu festival of Diwali that combines dining with a showcase of young talent from the community.

Residents are invited to join an event honouring Diwali, the Festival of Lights, this spring. Entitled the Osha Diwali Lunch, the gathering aims to pay tribute to the rich and colourful heritage of the Hindu community in the Perth suburb and surrounding areas, while offering an opportunity to dine on traditional cuisine.

Hosts of special dining events celebrating important festivals sometime connect with expert printing services that can lay out dishes and drinks in well-designed Menus for guests to choose from.

Also showcasing a sense of community spirit, the three-hour event promises a wealth of tailored entertainment. Young people from the area will be taking centre stage to perform live music and vibrant dance routines that have been composed and directed to reflect the essence of the festival of lights.

The Osha Diwali Lunch will now be held at Shakktidhaam on Sunday, November 15. The celebration will get started at 11 am and run until 2 pm, with the Hindu temple and events venue simple to locate at 58 Luisini Road in Wangara.

The event is presented by Perth-based cultural organisation VOCA Community Heritage Empowerment.
