An upcoming concert dedicated to swing music will be held in Perth.
Fans of this type of music in Wangara and other Perth suburbs will not want to miss the opportunity to hear music from the 1940s performed live on stage. Live music venues and orchestras performing will sometimes enlist expert Graphic Design Services to create professional programmes listing the pieces being played at events for attendees.
Entitled “The Celebration of Swing”, the concert in Perth will pay tribute to the most famous big band leaders from the USA and their orchestras, which rose to fame during the golden era of swing music. The single-night performance will celebrate the timeless classics played by Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller, to name but a few.
Those performing on the night will include John Morrison’s Swing City, along with 15 different musicians, and the singing talents of Jacki Cooper and Gregg Arthur will also be highlighted.
The evening will feature the legendary Australian jazz musician James Lloyd Morrison as special guest. While Morrison is known for his trumpet skills, he also plays tuba, trombone, euphonium, clarinet, piano, guitar and saxophone.
The Celebration of Swing event will take place at Perth Concert Hall, 5 St Georges Terrace in Perth on Friday, May 13. The show will start at 7.30 pm and end at 9.30 pm, and tickets are priced between $79.90 and $98.90.
