Residents of the City of Wanneroo, including Wangara, are being urged to check out two episodes of Channel 10 television show ‘Good Chef Bad Chef’ in which the area's local produce is featured.
Cooking show host Adrian Richardson visited businesses and local growers from across the region, including Horti-Pride Gooseberry Farm and Yanchep Lavender Farm when the series was shot in February. Also featured were businesses ranging from Mindarie's Ocean Brewing Co to Neerabup's Trandos Tomatoes.
Dishes prepared on the show by Adrian included many of the City's home-grown tomatoes, cucumbers, chilli, olives and beer bread.
Mayor of Wanneroo, Tracey Roberts was delighted with the series, which she hopes will help to boost awareness of local produce and encourage tourists and residents to explore what is on offer throughout the region.
She said the area was privileged to be host to some great growers who have helped to give Wanneroo the unofficial title of the ‘food bowl of the north'.
Owner of Yanchep Lavender, Karla Champion was delighted at being featured on the programme as it provided much needed exposure to local produce. As part of their marketing campaigns, local businesses such as this sometimes use flyer printing services to craft eye-catching handouts to distribute within the community.
Both of the Good Chef Bad Chef episodes can be viewed on the City's YouTube channel.
