Residents invited to comment on 10-year plan

The input of residents from Wangara and throughout Wanneroo City is being invited to help shape the area's future in the coming 10 years.

Community feedback is being sought on the Strategic Community Plan 2020-2030 (SCP), which maps out the city's aspirations and visions, together with a key set of strategies needed for them to be achieved.

Mayor of Wanneroo Tracey Roberts said this was a great opportunity for community members to comment on the recommendations and have a positive input into making the city a place in which people wanted to work and live – not only now, but also in the future. She added:

“With our population expected to double in the next 20 years, we need a roadmap to support continued growth, connect our communities and enhance the liveability of our vibrant, active, progressive and inclusive City."

The city, she said, was among the fastest growing and largest of the state's local government sectors, and consisted of 36 suburbs and three wards that all had their own set of aspirations and needs.

Printing services are often enlisted to ensure a supply of detailed information on all aspects of a plan such as this are available to interested members of the community.

There are a number of options available for community groups, businesses and residents to take part, such as workshops, forums and an online survey, with all comments to be received no later than November 6.
