The best of local horticulture, vegetables, hobbies, and crafts will be on display at this year’s Wanneroo Agricultural Show.
The annual event has been a major drawcard to locals from the city’s suburbs, including Yanchep and Wangara, Western Australia, since it was first held in 1909.
Last year, more than 20,000 people visited the show, which is packed with activities, exhibitions, and fun for all the family.
According to organisers, the show has something for everyone and features an extensive program, including food, displays, races, side shows, exhibitions, entertainers, competitions, fairground rides, an animal farm, and riding displays.
Since the show began, local vegetable producers have presented exhibits of their top-quality produce, and this year there will also be classes in individual vegetable exhibitions, ranging from potatoes and onions to carrots, beetroot, and tomatoes.
Horticultural displays will include native flowers, delphiniums, petunias, gerberas, carnations, and roses, while home cooks will vie for trophies and prizes in the annual cooking exhibition.
Those wishing to hone their master chef skills will be able to take part in a host of classes covering everything from making cupcakes and Christmas cakes to decorating a wedding cake.
Many locals have pre-empted the usual flyer printing and distribution to letterboxes, and already marked the event on their Calendars.
