Welshpool area to welcome synth pop icons

A legendary pop band known for their electronic sounds are arriving in Perth to perform at one of the city’s biggest venues in autumn.

Welshpool residents with a passion for ‘80s pop can now get tickets to see the iconic electronica act New Order. The world-renowned synth pop band has confirmed it will play a live set at the RAC Arena in nearby Perth this March.

Formed from the ashes of Joy Division after the death of vocalist Ian Curtis, New Order reigned supreme in the ‘80s with their synthesiser-fuelled music, which has proved an inspiration for countless electronic artists.

The band are well-known as the flagship act for Factory Records, the famous Manchester record label, and for working with English artist and graphic design expert Peter Saville, who created album sleeves for both New Order and Joy Division.

Fans attending the upcoming concert in the Western Australia capital will get to appreciate classic tracks from New Order’s four-decade-long music career, which may include hits like “Blue Monday”, “Bizarre Love Triangle” and “Temptation”.

New Order will now take over the stage of the RAC Arena on Wednesday, March 5. The show will start at 7 pm and the arena is easy to find at 700 Wellington Street in Perth. The concert is suitable for audience members of all ages.
