Tenacious D to tour Australia

Fans of comic rock band Tenacious D are in for a treat next month, as the band stop off in Perth on their latest Australian tour.

Band members Jack Black and Kyle Gass have not been to the country since 2011 when they supported the Foo Fighters on tour. This time they are taking the show back to basics and touring as an acoustic duo.

The pair will be supported by Australian musician Barry Morgan, who will be bringing the genius of his organ playing to the stage during the tour and SASQUATCH, an American ape like creature who also happens to be quite a mean guitar player.

This will be the first tour Tenacious D have undertaken in Australia since the release of their latest Grammy-nominated album Rize of the Fenix and will feature some of the new tracks as well as old favourites from their first two albums, and possibly a few covers as well.

The pair are playing just a handful of dates in Australia so fans from Welshpool will be among the lucky few to see them perform live. Banner printing can help get a message to the band from the audience. Tenacious D are known for their clever and funny lyrics so a banner bearing a comic message might stand a better chance of being noticed.

The show will take place in the Riverside Theatre at the Perth Exhibition and Convention Centre on Wednesday May 15. Doors open at 7.30pm. To book tickets, visit the Ticketek website.
