Pirates headed for Welshpool area

Perth will soon present a special screening of a popular Disney swashbuckler featuring an orchestral experience.

Those with a passion for film and music in Welshpool and other suburbs of the state capital can attend an event designed to satisfy their needs this summer. December will find the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre’s Riverside Theatre play host to an enhanced performance of “Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl on the big screen.

While the classic adventure story inspired by the Disney Land theme park attraction unfolds onscreen, audiences can also enjoy a full live symphony orchestra performing the soundtrack complete with a choir of gifted singers.

The first film in the successful Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, the Curse of the black Pearl boasts an all-star cast with Johnny Depp reprising his role as loveable scallywag Captain Jack Sparrow and Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley as Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann. Renowned for raising the bar in cinema soundtracks, the film has a score by Hans Zimmer the award-winning composer.

The special event is presented by Symphonic Cinema and will run from Friday, December 6 (7.30 pm) to Saturday, December 7 (3 pm and 7.30 pm) at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre’s Riverside Theatre.
