Artist Kathryn Stanley-Hart offers an open studio environment once a month for local artists to join her and work on their own painting or other artwork. The Creativity Club Open Studio Afternoon takes place at the Victoria Park Centre for the Arts.
Artists from Welshpool and other surrounding suburbs can spend the first Saturday afternoon of every month in the company of like-minded people. Artists must provide their own materials, but water containers, easels and cleaning rags are provided, as is afternoon tea.
As part of its mission to encourage community participation in the arts, the Vic Park Arts Centre offers creative experiences of this kind for both adults and children.
Set in a weatherboard house from the 1940s, this Centre comprises a gathering-room, gift-shop and gallery, as well as the Naked Canvas studio which opens onto a garden, perfect for art classes. Local printing companies are able to provide Brochures, Flyers and poster printing for advertising various artistic endeavours.
The Arts Centre is at 12 Kent Road, East Victoria Park. The next Open Studio Afternoon will take place tomorrow, July 1, and the cost is $30, or $25 for concession.
