Big band sounds bound for Welshpool area

An acclaimed Perth venue is set to celebrate a world-famous trumpet player this October.

Jazz fans from Welshpool, Wangara and other satellite cities around Western Australia won’t want to miss an upcoming concert in the capital. In honour of his 60th birthday, legendary Australian trumpeter James Morrison is undertaking a tour across the country and making a stop at the Perth Concert Hall. Venues of all shapes and sizes, from arenas and stadiums to local theatres, often use professional poster printing services to create eye-catching advertisements for the events they host to draw in the crowds.

To mark this important milestone in his life, Morrison will play with a full band of expert musicians, including the eminent saxophone player Andy Firth. Two guest vocalists, Darren Percvial and Emma Pask, will also accompany the trumpet player as the maestro covers a wide range of songs by music icons like Ray Charles, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and Dizzy Gillespie.

Morrison will also play a special tribute to his mentor, the late great Don Burrows, and share stories from his extensive career in the music industry.

James Morrison and his Big Band will now play the Perth Concert Hall, based at 5 St Georges Terrace, in Perth on Sunday, October 23. The show will start at 3:00pm and end at 7:00pm.
