The three-month programme has been designed to not only showcase the local music scene, but also to aid in the recovery of Melbourne’s music industry after the months of COVID-19 lockdowns in place in the region.
While the details of the programme – including venues and performers – are still to be released, organisers are asking music fans to follow the Melbourne Music Week on Instagram or to subscribe to the newsletter.
The Instagram page releases current updates about the festival plans, soundtracks and other related information. It also details information about a new collaborative project, “MERGE”, which is described as:
“A collaborative music and design commission between Melbourne Music Week, @mpavilion and @openhousemelb bringing local talent and heritage together in a unique and meaningful way.”
MERGE will bring together five local artists to perform new works at Open House Melbourne and during Music Week. Festivals like this often use poster printing to market both the event itself and individual acts that will be performing during the event.
The festival will run from Wednesday, December 9 until Sunday, February 28. For more information, follow the official Instagram page or see the City of Melbourne’s website.
