Marketplace to bring Melbourne CBD community together

It has been announced that Melbourne CBD's Neighbourhood Marketplace event will take place again this year.

The event first ran in 2019 as part of National Neighbour Day. It is an opportunity for residents, council departments and small traders in Melbourne to engage, educate and display their products and services.

A driving force behind the event is Residents 3000, a community group for postcode 3000, hence the name. Residents 3000 ran the first event in 2019, and this year it will be co-hosting with City Precinct and the City of Melbourne. Due to COVID, the group has only recently been able to restart face-to-face events with its recent trivia night.

Residents 3000 said on its website that:

"We aim to promote the wellbeing, amenity and the environment of Melbourne City by connecting, supporting and informing our members, associates and subscribers."

The neighbourhood marketplace will feature several small businesses from within the CBD and council departments, with information on a range of subjects relevant to residents. Subjects like capital works, waste and libraries will feature in the council stalls. Flyer printing can help organisations promote events and markets like this throughout the community.

The Neighbourhood Marketplace venue will be the Kelvin Club, Melbourne Place, and it will take place from 6pm to 8.30pm on May 6. Entry is free, but numbers will be limited to 100. There will also be food and drinks available.
