Professional quilter Judy Niemeyer will be a guest speaker at this year’s Australian Quilt Market in Melbourne, Victoria.
Since discovering the art of Foundation Paper Piercing in the late 1990s, the Montana-based quilter has spent much of her time training others to use the same process to create complex and intricate heirloom-quality quilts.
Her goal has been to help people who may be struggling with different methods of putting the final touches on quilts to actually complete them in the quickest possible manner.
Niemeyer will display her most recent array of new and repurposed pattern designs, which will be available at the market.
Industry wholesalers and traders have been catching up on the latest products and quilting methods at the show since it was first introduced in 1998. It has since become the biggest wholesale event of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
Visitors are able to purchase and view the very latest in fabrics, patchwork, beading, needlework, patterns, domestic sewing machines, threads, professional quilting machines and accessories.
Flyer and catalogue printing allows those attending the show to keep track of innovations and secure important contacts for the future.
Prior to the market opening each day, Show and Share sessions will be held to allow visitors to both see the latest products and receive instructions on their use.
The Australian Quilt Market will be held from November 22nd to 23rd at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
