Festival to celebrate all things water in a delicious way

All things water is the theme of this year’s Food and Wine Festival in Melbourne, Victoria. This vital element of life is about to set the minds of some of the City’s best chefs sizzling as they devise concepts and ideas based around water and its role in fine dining.

In a unique, entertaining and assuredly tasty way, this year’s festival event will follow the story of water from the big oceans, lakes and waterways to the basic tap water in homes. The use of water in irrigation and the meaning of aquaculture for future generations will be a focus of discussions along with favourite cuisines and wines.

The festival, to be held from February 28 to March 16, will incorporate a host of venues and dining outlets throughout the city offering a wide range of activities and eating experiences.

The diverse program will include the always popular hands on workshops for budding young chefs keen to create their own signature dish. This has become a much loved feature over the opening weekend.

Visitors can learn from the best at workshops for Sushi, Vietnamese rice paper rolls and Greek dolmades.

The Alexandra Park riverbank will host a relaxed lunch for 1500 while well-known country restaurants will welcome diners for specially prepared two-course lunches for only $40, including wine, coffee or tea.

Flyer printing has helped organisers alert locals to the major draws on offer at the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival which annually draws thousands of visitors to the city and in particular, to its many renowned dining venues.
