The 2023 Boroondara Photograph Competition has announced the winners of its annual photography event and has launched its well-loved exhibition at the Town Hall Gallery.
Aryan Shali and Riley Armitage won first prize in the Young Photographers Competition, while Ian Spence and Julian Fletcher took out the honours in the Open Photograph Competition. Second, third and other highly commended entries were also awarded. Photographers were able to enter their works into the categories of Primary School, Secondary School, Historical and Boroondara Today. The winning photographs are now on show at the ‘Celebrate Boroondara’ photography exhibition in Hawthorn. Printing services are often chosen as a method of displaying photographs at exhibitions similar to this.
Visitors to the exhibition have the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice award, which will be announced at the conclusion of the display. The Best in Competition winner will have the opportunity to partake in a masterclass with artist Cyrus Tang.
The Boroondara Photography Competition attracts hundreds of photographers each year from all walks of life. The ‘Celebrate Boroondara’ exhibition is promoted by the Boroondara City Council and supported by the Boroondara Library Service.
The ‘Celebrate Boroondara’ photography exhibition is currently open and will run until Saturday, August 26 at the Town Hall Gallery, 360 Burwood Road, Hawthorn. The gallery is open Monday to Friday from 10am until 5pm, and on Saturdays from 12pm until 4pm. Admission to the exhibition is free.
