The Sustainable Green Printing certification program helps companies deal with their environmental responsibilities. Most companies are becoming more environmentally friendly in their business practices. This can only improve the world in which we live.

The Australian printing industry certification program has 4 levels; a company does not have to achieve all levels to be environmentally friendly. The 4 levels are:

Level 1 - an introduction to certification - deals with cleaner production practices and waste management
Level 2 - covers waste management, recycling, storage and handling of chemicals, air emissions, energy consumption and lowering the carbon footprint of the company
Level 3 - this level helps a company get prepared for ISO 14001 certification - provides Print-specific performance indicators and guidelines and lowers the cost of compliance
Level 4 - goes beyond ISO 14001 certification - gives instruction in Best Practice procedures

The printing industry can go green in so many ways. There are recycled papers and inks coloured by vegetables. Most companies already have environmentally friendly waste management procedures in place and are dedicated to recycling the papers they use.
