Boroondara Council is organising a free networking event this February. The event, entitled ‘Super Networking’, will feature a range of speakers and include a number of topics for residents of the area, including Hawthorn, to enjoy. Networking in business is one of the most important and least understood skills for many people. In order to grow this essential skill set, the council is throwing this event for local business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Networking provides businesses with the ability to broaden their range of customers, collaborators and knowledge. However, many people working in the business sector struggle with networking, particularly the socialising aspect that comes with many different events that are promoted in the community.
The guest speaker for the Super Networking event is Vickie Burkinshaw, who is from the organisation Purple Pyjamas. The theme for the night has been named as ‘Luck, Sweat and Business’. Purple Pyjamas is an organisation that has had many campaigns around mental health, business and community. At this event there will be valuable discussions, activities and tips, with networking high on the agenda for many attendees. Therefore, it may be worth bringing Business Cards with you if you plan on coming along.
This event will take place on Tuesday, February 7, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the local council office. This is located at 8 Inglesby Road, Building 1 Camberwell VIC 3124, and there is some parking available on site. Bookings are essential.
