Workshop for young cricketers to take place in Essendon

Community Sports Camps will be holding a two-day cricket camp for children aged 4-12 at Windy Hill this month.

The camp will teach children fundamental cricketing skills in a fun environment. Target bowling, T20 batting and classic catches will all be covered and the youngsters will learn correct techniques through a variety of drills. Each day will finish with a T20 match, where the children will be able to use the skills they have learnt.

Children of all levels will be catered for, from beginners to accomplished cricketers and organisers will group children with friends or schoolmates where appropriate.

The camp will run from 9am to 3pm each day. In the case of adverse weather conditions, there is access to indoor facilities so the camp will be able to continue. Morning and afternoon tea, drinks and fruit will be provided but children need to bring their own lunch. If children have their own cricket gear, they are encouraged to bring it along but equipment will be available to borrow.

The camp costs $140 for two days or $80 for a single day. Discounts are available for extra family members or for sporting club members. Bookings can be made online through the Australian Sports Camps website.

Sporting clubs and camps often use promotional products to make children feel more involved in the sport.
