Victoria showcases ideas for tech careers
The Victorian Engineering and IT Career Expo will be held in September at the State Library of Victoria, close to Essendon and surrounding suburbs.
The expo is an annual event that provides information about opportunities for employment to those interested in pursuing careers in the fields of engineering and information technology.
The expo is a joint enterprise between the Engineers Australia, the Institute of Electrical Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), which have joined with La Trobe University to encourage local industries in the engineering and information technology disciplines to display their services to potential employees. More than 20 companies will be displaying their skills this year.
The event was first held in 2006 by Engineers Australia and targets not only university students and teachers, but also current employees seeking a new direction for their careers and high school students looking for vocational options. It aims to demonstrate that engineering and information technology are exciting and rewarding career choices.
It is probable that banner printing and poster printing will be used during the day, as well as catalogues, promotional products, business cards, flyers and brochures.
